ZX Spectrum +3 ROM v4.1 *modified* Modified from the original ROM from +3B english version Notable changes: - the disk catalog is fixed (transparent for normally 3" disk users, but important for 3.5" disk users, where more than 64 directory entries on disk were not displayed) - the duplication of two disks (copy"a:"to"b:" command) is now compatible with 720k disks, if both A: and B: drives are of 720k type - formatted disks with the +3BASIC format command have now interelave factor 3 (however, the format command is still limited to 180K disk capacity) - the "COPY" commmand will give a full printer screen copy (all 24*8 lines, not only 22*8) - the +3BASIC interface colors are changed to blue background and white font (same as default colors on CP/M Plus for +3) There are two files, 32768 bytes each, the exact lenght required in case of burning two replacement EPROMs for a real Spectrum. I have also included the ROM files required by the X128 ZX Spectrum Emulator, (c) James McKay. The ROM filenames are the ones required by X128, so you can do a quick check before burning the real EPROMS. The filenames from this package: 04MS subdirectory P3_01_4M.ROM P3_23_4M.ROM These are the ROM images for the physical +3. They have 4ms head stepper motor timing, for faster disk access. !!! these are only working with 3.5" drive(s) (either A: or B: or both) and *NO* original Amstrad 3" drive(s) (either A: or B: or both) !!! use this version only if you are sure you will *never* use (again) the original Amstrad 3" drive !!! 12MS subdirectory P3_01_CM.ROM P3_23_CM.ROM These are the ROM images for the physical +3. They have 12ms head stepper motor timing, the same as the original +3 (it is left unchanged). These are working with either 3.5" drive(s) (either A: or B: or both) or original Amstrad 3" drive(s) (either A: or B: or both). The 3.5" drive will perform slightly slower than it is actually capable. X128 subdirectory PL3-0.ROM PL3-1.ROM PL3-2.ROM PL3-3.ROM These are the four ROM pages required by X128 Spectrum Emulator. The ROM content is the same as for the above 12ms head stepper motor timing. (just in case you are curious, the "C" from P3_01_CM.ROM and P3_23_CM.ROM names is hex 12 :) (c) 1992-1998 Cristian Secara last revision 03.03.2001
