N E W PARALLEL CENTRONICS INTERFACE FOR ZX SPECTRUM

parallel Centronics interface. ZX LPRINT plugs directly into ZX SPECTRUM rear
connector and, via a ribbon cable, into almost any dot matrix or daisy wheel 
printer. (This leaflet is typed on a, Brother HR - 1 daisy wheel ). ZX LPRINT
interface translates LPRINT and LLIST output from ZX SPECTRUM into parallel 
Centronics format. This means that zx SPECTRUM computer fitted with ZX LPRINT
interface is no longer dependent on Zx printer. In fact a professional quality
word processing is now within the reach of ZX SPECTRUM capabilities.

Any number of characters per line up to the maximum allowed by the printer in
use can be printed with LPRINT command. LLIST gives the programme listing 
complete with Sinclair tokens (e.g. SCREEN$ , RANDOMIZE etc.) Printers which 
require special control characters from the range of 128 to 255 to access 
some of their functions can be used and cotrolled with ZX LPRINT interface.
Sinclair tokens which fall into this range can be switched off using LPRINT 
CHR$ 5 command and instead a true ASCII character can be sent to the printer.
Return to Sinclair character set is via LPRINT CHR$ 4. This feature enables 
the user to get the full use of his printer's capabilities. E.g. block graphics
can be printed on some dot matrix printers or a form feed and eject can be 
implemented on letter quality printers. But this is not all...

A COPY command will dump the complete screen to a high resolution graphics
printer. This opens a whole new range of applications. COPY software to go with
ZX LPRINT interface is supplied on a separate cassette. LPRINT and LLIST
commands do not need any extra software - they require just ZX LPRINT interface
plugged into the computer.

So, here is an add on unit which will transform any ZX SPECTRUM computer into
a hard working word processor, a spredsheet report writer, hi-res 'graphics 
printer controller... applications must be endless. And all this fits into a
unit of 70 x 65 x 25 mm.

Power input to computer and printer must be disconnected 
before inserting this module and its cables in position. 
* Character sets other than Sinclair (e.g. graphics and 
control characters) can be sent to printer if preceeded 
by CHR$ 5. Return to Sinclair set is via CHR$ 4. 
* Length of the printed line is determined by Carriage
Return	character (Sinclair ENTER for most printers)
* Software for screen Copy is available separately.Please 
refer to instructions supplied with the software. 
* zx Lprint can be used with 16K or 48K ZX Spectrum.
